I recently published a new plan to Coach.me, an online platform for habit-building and community coaching:

Stoic Quote of the Day

When most people think of philosophy their eyes glaze over as images of stuffy old professors and endless lectures come to mind.

But philosophy is not just about talking, lecturing, or reading dry old books. Systems like Stoicism are designed for action, not debate, and can be used to solve problems and produce dramatic, real-world outcomes.

Founded in Athens by Zeno of Citium in the early third century BC, the Stoic philosophy was popularised amongst the ancient Romans by writers like Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, and Epictetus.

At its core is a guide to living a simple (though not necessarily easy) life of integrity, meeting obstacles head-on, and controlling what you can whilst accepting what you cannot.

The number of steps in this plan will change over time as I add additional quotes from the great Stoic writers, once you start you’ll be able to read a new quote every day.
